• Feasibility Study and Concept Design
After capturing your brief, a feasibility study can be produced to analyse the opportunities and limitations of your site within the context of its surroundings. Sketches, precedent imagery, and other useful information are compiled into a document format. This can be used to receive indicative feedback from your local Planning Department or Parish Council, and help you visualise your design brief in advance of Planning and other approvals, required before building work can start on your project.
  • Planning
Whether you are undertaking a residential, commercial, civic, industrial, or other type of project, it is likely you will require approval from your local planning authority. There are exceptions to this, and we can advise you on what permissions you would need to apply for. MRT Architects can produce developed drawings, reports and other information required for Planning, Conservation and other types of consent. We would liaise with the Planning Authority, Conservation Officers, Historic Building Consultants, and other professionals to help guide your project through the Planning process.
  • Technical Design and Building Regulations
MRT Architects can produce technical drawings, specifications, and schedules suitable for submission to builder control for approval, ensuring compliance before construction work starts on your project. Many types of construction require building control approval, and our team can advise you on the best approach for your individual requirements.
  • Tender Action
The technical drawings, specifications, and schedules can be further enhanced and compiled as part of a tender package that can be used for costing purposes by builders and other specialists who you may choose to construct your project. MRT Architects can help with tender negotiations and help with choosing the right contractor for your project.
  • Contract Administration
It is recommended that the Client and their chosen Contractor agree a form of building contract, which is a document designed to protect both you and your builder during the construction process. MRT Architects can administer the building contract and conduct regular site inspections and design meetings throughout the build process to ensure the agreed design and specification is followed until completion.

At MRT Architects we ensure your vision and ideas are brought to life through a phased and collaborative design process. Taking the time to get to know you, your lifestyle, and developing an understanding of your aspirations, we strive towards beautiful design to create your vision.
