The property is an historic Grade II Cotswold stone house under a ‘stone’ tiled roof which has been added to over the years. This project was to replace a garden room (previously) a garage with a purpose built stone extension to contain some reception rooms for a home office and an annexe bedroom with ensuite bathroom. The design took into account the steep slope which runs up the side and to the rear of the house and the corresponding levels.
Due to the constraints of the land, proximity to the public footpath and the need to be sensitive to the Listed Building and the Conservation Area this proposal maximises the potential of the site and creates an attractive addition which preserves and enhances Penn Cottage and provides additional very useful accommodation.
