MRT visit new housing development in the village of Lighthorne
MRT undertook their second office site visit of last week to the village of Lighthorne in Warwickshire. The site consists of 5 bespoke dwellings with garages being developed by Housestyle Countrywide Ltd. Each dwelling has a unique character with large double height entrance halls and open plan kitchen dining and living spaces. These 5 houses are almost complete and will be going onto the market very soon.
MRT team visit new contemporary dwelling site
MRT undertook an office site visit yesterday. The site visit took the team around this large 9100 sqft, contemporary detached house for a private client. The vast open entrance with triangulated roof light provides the clients with a dramatic light filled entrance hall with large open living spaces throughout.
Site visits are a vital part of learning for all members of the team, and it was certainly interesting to see what our colleagues are working on when undertaking detailed design work at the construction management stage.
Contemporary dwelling granted planning permission
MRT have recently obtained permission for this low energy contemporary dwelling located within the West Midlands Green Belt. Positioned on the outskirts of Claverdon this new dwelling has been designed to take full advantage of its elevated position and distant views.
Featuring a simple cuboid form and incorporating a mix of render, weather-boarding, and full-height glazing the building has been designed to provide sensitive and contemporary response to its context.
The building will be constructed utilising a ‘fabric first’ approach to energy efficiency via a highly insulated thermal envelope, triple glazing, and mechanical ventilation heat recovery (MVHR) system. Works are due to commence on site within the next few months.
