Planning permission granted for a new dwelling in the curtilage of a grade 2 listed building.

It was a beautiful sunny day last week visiting this stunning new dwelling situated in the Welford on Avon conservation area. Planning was initially refused by the local authority and the application was taken to appeal and approved! We love acomplishing our clients dreams and supporting them every step of the way. This dwelling is surrounded by mature trees and plants and sits effortlessly within its setting. This project was completed in collaboration with Steelhead Developments llp and various other sub contractors including Landscape designer Sue Adcock.
A glavernised exposed steel frame will support a new roof and a skyframe minimal glass wall extension to this Grade II listed cottage. The blend of old and new is a good way of making an architectural contribution to a 17th Century Cottage. The extension is clearly of our time and gives a new lease of life to this historic architecture.
The Skyframe sliding doors have now been installed and the interior design features the galvanised steel frame exposed between mdf panels alongside the original brick wall to remain exposed. The contemporary blend of new and old awaits the handleless kitchen which is to sit on a concrete tiled floor.
Work continues to develop at our project in Lapworth. Contemporary cantilevered extensions and a grand atrium entrance hallway complement the original edwardian house. Permitted development leisure buildings are also being constructed adding substance to the estate.
Works are progressing well at this new house in Broadway with ground works well underway and the wall construction nearly at first floor. The Cotswold Stone walls are beautifully constructed and the rooms are begining to take shape.
