Revisit of a Lockdown project

It was lovely to revisit this lockdown project a few weeks ago. This project included the complete renovation of a property in Hampton Lucy. The existing entrance was to the side of the property which made for an awkward internal arrangement. The entrance was moved to the front aspect with a new gable added to the property which also provided this wonderful space at first floor overlooking the fields adjacent. The clients are very happy with the finished spaces and have done a wonderful job of decorating the interior.

Renovations by the Racecourse

Renovations were completed by the racecourse in this beautiful town house in Stratford upon Avon. MRT created a modern stylish interior with atmospheric lighting to create interesting and relaxing spaces for different tasks.

The ground floor consists of a living / office area leading out to the garden with stunning views over the racecourse. The first floor has been transformed by merging the kitchen into the living area, to create a sociable / modern space and the second floor has two bedrooms, with the main bedroom having an en-suite. This along with replacing the decaying windows and doors with new and redesigned garden area creates a welcoming brighter feel.

Past Project Revisited

Following a successful replacement dwelling project, a new house was built for our clients in their adjacent orchard. This stylish house is multi gabled and blends render and stone under a tiled roofscape in a harmonious composition. The spacious interior has vaulted ceilings and excellent daylight throughout.

Past project gets new lease of life as Air BNB.

Arch Cottage, Lechlade is now an Air BNB, so everyone can stay at Arch Cottage, a Grade 1 listed house in Lechlade, altered and extended by MRT Architects for previous clients.

The Cotswold stone house sits on the historic Burford Street which leads to the old road bridge which crosses the River Thames and is named after a Tudor arch which encloses the front door to a remarkable house and an opening out to a wonderful secret garden.

Chosen by Harpers Bazaar Magazine in 2021 as one of the twelve best luxury stays in the United Kingdom and no 1 in the Cotswolds.

Approval for alterations and extensions in Long Compton

Approval has been obtained in the Conservation Area of Long Compton for Alterations and Extensions to this beautiful Cotswold stone property. The proposal for this application was to provide additional accommodation for a growing family in the picturesque village of Long Compton. The Cotswold Stone house has an idyllic cottage presence which has been retained in the street scene, however a new pitched roof porch entrance is proposed which will create an attractive frontage to the existing concrete stone flat roof porch. To the rear, a contemporary extension has been proposed which provides an open plan room with a new garden-side sitting room. Above, a new bedroom suite is created which is to be vaulted to the roof with a new en-suite.
