The design of this house responds to its setting and provides a good design which is attractive, usable, durable and adaptable which is a key element in achieving sustainable development. The scale of the dwelling is sympathetic to the site and to other barn like structures which exist in the locality. The stairs are to the side and the half landing has a full height window which overlooks the orchard and takes in morning sun and rises to a gallery which looks down on the family room below. This dramatic gallery serves four bedrooms with three ensuite/shower rooms and a further family bathroom.
